Journey through Japan’s sacred Catholic heritage, from the hidden Christians of Nagasaki to the miraculous tears of Akita, while experiencing the cultural depth of the nation. Begin in Nagasaki, home to early missionaries, martyrs, and St. Maximilian Kolbe’s legacy. Continue through Kokura, Hiroshima, Kurashiki, Himeji and Osaka, where faith took root despite persecution.
Walk the historic sites of witness—the Mountain of the Cross, Urakami Cathedral, the 26 Martyrs Monument, and memorials of the atomic tragedies. Encounter the beauty of Miyajima Shrine, Kintaikyo Bridge, and Kurashiki Bikan’s classical charm.
In Kyoto and Osaka, follow the steps of the 52 Martyrs and celebrate Mass at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Fly north to Akita to venerate Our Lady of Akita, where the wooden statue wept 101 times, calling for prayer and reparation. Conclude in Tokyo with visits to St. Mary’s Cathedral, Mount Fuji, and its Catholic church community.
