“Let’s Go to AFRICA!!!” – CICM Mission in Zambia & Historic Route of Ethiopia

Date: 9th Jun 2026 - 23rd Jun 2026

A Spiritual Journey – Zambia & Ethiopia with Simien Mountains and Blue Nile Falls

Walk the soil of two ancient lands as you encounter living mission, breathtaking nature, and the deep Christian roots of Africa. Begin in Zambia, where the CICM congregation has served for fifty years. From Kabwe you’ll visit St. Monica Parish at Mulungushi Dam and Mary Help of Christians Parish in Lukanga Swamp, celebrating Mass, meeting priests and parishioners, and sharing in the Golden Jubilee festivities of St. Veronica’s Church. A visit to Mother Teresa’s Sisters and their home for the poor in Kabwe, plus time at Lusaka’s Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Kabwata Cultural Market, reveals both the challenges and hope of local communities.

Then fly to Ethiopia, gateway to Africa’s ancient Christian heritage. Cruise Lake Tana at the source of the Blue Nile, visit island monasteries and the powerful Blue Nile Falls, and explore Gondar’s royal castles and Debre Berhan Selassie Church. Journey into the dramatic Simien Mountains National Park, home of Gelada baboons and sweeping highland vistas, before continuing to Lalibela’s famed rock-hewn churches and Asheten Mariam monastery. Complete the pilgrimage in Addis Ababa with its national museum, women’s pottery cooperative, Holy Saviour Church, and a joyful cultural farewell evening. Daily Mass, shared prayer, and rich encounters invite you into a deeper missionary heart.
